The 2021 National Scratch Competition is open for entries and deadline for project submissions is 26th February 2021. We will be collecting entries over the next 3 weeks. See scratch.ics.ie/ for details. We are so proud of Coderdojo Malahide kids who have represented us in past years, with finalists in each of 2017 (Sam, Sarah), 2018 (John), 2019 (Finbar) and 2020 (Dawid). On Saturday 28th November we will run a shorter coding session and then will be joined by a guest speaker. Our guest speaker is Brendan Fields, who is engineering manager for Demonware. Brendan looks after the IT infrastructure for well-known games including Tony Hawk, Crash Bandicoot and Guitar Hero. Demonware also look after the networking for Activision games. The final of the 2020 Scratch National Competition, run by the Irish Computer Society took place (online) today. Coderdojo Malahide was represented by Dawid, who had been selected as a finalist back in March. We were delighted to hear that Dawid won the "after-school coding 5th-6th class" category. Well done Dawid!!
